With a game that is as long and storied as baccarat, you are bound to have different side bets. Some are present in just about every version and variant you can find. Others are rarer, either due to being complicated or not being worth including everywhere.

Today, we look at one such side-bet, called Bellagio match. It offers a high house edge, with some awesome winning potential.

After placing your relevant main bets, you can also play the Bellagio match side bet. It can be played alongside the player or banker hand.

Bellagio match tasks you with getting a three-of-a-kind match for that particular hand. For example, you receive a prize if you get three fives, or three aces.

Thanks to baccarat’s specific rules, playing Bellagio match on player and banker hands is not the same. The house edge for player hands is 5.27%, which is quite high. It also pays 75:1 in the rare chance this happens.

Meanwhile, getting a Bellagio match for the banker hand pays 68:1. The house edge for playing the banker bet is 8.57%, making it even rarer than the player Bellagio match. This is because banker hands do not draw a third card nearly as often as player hands do.
