Baccarat is a simple game, and that is part of its main appeal. However, it is possible to increase its complexity and payouts by adding side bets. One of these extra wagers is called Royal Match.
You should not mix it up with the blackjack side bet. This wager, while rare, is its own thing. In this article, we go over the prerequisites for winning Royal Match, and the rewards it offers.

A Special Side Bet
As with all baccarat side bets, players need to place one of the three main bets before playing Royal Match. You can freely choose between player, banker and tie. Unlike other side bets, this one does not have any synergy with a particular wager.

Payout
Royal Match pays money when your first two cards are a King/Queen combo. The exact reward depends on whether their suits match or not.
Matching suits pay 75:1, while a standard King/Queen combo pays 30:1. The King and Queen must be the first two cards you draw.
The house edge for this side bet is only 2.13%, which is not a big downgrade compared to the standard baccarat round.
