The snake bet in roulette is one of the more exotic betting possibilities in the game. If you are playing roulette online, it is not often that you will find this bet as a fixed bet option, but when you do it will usually be in the Call Bets section.
It is a wager that highly appeals to players who like to bet on a dozen as it also covers 12 numbers but follows a certain pattern. Even though the snake bet is a rarity in roulette, it is not a hard option to learn and use in one’s favor. This is how you play the snake bet at roulette.

Know Your Roulette Betting Table
A roulette player will perform quite poorly at the table if he or she does not know well all the areas presented on the betting layout.
You can’t simply place random chips on the board and expect to achieve results. You don’t need to learn all the best at once, try to learn them one by one and soon you will have them all neatly stored in your memory.
The snake bet is a bet placed on the numbers, so the number zone is what you should focus on, rather than on rows on the table or the odd/even nature of the numbers on the wheel.
Since red is the color of luck and prosperity, the snake bet is a bet on red number which are presented in a zigzag fashion on the betting layout. The result is an s-shaped pattern that resembles a snake, hence the name.

Snake Bet Explained
The snake bet covers 12 numbers in the number zone and stretches across the entire table. It includes the following numbers: 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32, and 34. Connect them with a line and you will get an s-shaped line.
The snake bet consists of 12 straight number bets and no split bets are allowed. So, keep in mind that all of the 12 numbers will need to have the same amount wagered on them.

Placing the Snake Bet
Enter a game of roulette and wait for the betting time to begin. Within the betting window you must take the chips of your chosen value and place them on the 12 numbers that make up the snake bet.
You can do it manually as you would place a single-number bet on 12 random numbers, or you can look for the Call Bets menu if the game has one and find the automatic snake bet button to use.
Alternatively, some roulette games may allow you to save your bets. Feel free to use the tool that permits you to input layouts you like and on the next spin you can save a lot of time simply by clicking on your snake bet template. If won, the snake bet pays 2 to 1 odds.
